Mumias ‘Comedian’ Peter Salasyah now blames Satan for slapping MCA in Mumias

Mumias East Member of Parliament Peter Salasya has publicly attributed his recent questionable behavior to the influence of Satan.

The first-time serving lawmaker, elected on the Democratic Action Party – Kenya (DAP-K) ticket in the 2022 general elections, has been involved in a series of physical altercations, raising concerns among constituents and the general public.

Taking to his social media account on Sunday, January 14, 2024, Salasya expressed a heartfelt apology to the people of Mumias East and all Kenyans.

“I, Peter Salasya, wish to express a sincere apology to the people of Mumias East and all Kenyans at large. My actions in the recent past have not been that of a role model or an example to the young men and women. Going forward, I promise to control my anger and reaction. Ni shetani aki (It is the work of Satan),” the MP wrote.

Salasya drew public attention occurred at a funeral service in Kakamega County, where Salasya reportedly engaged in a physical altercation with an MCA, Peter Walunya Indimuli.

The disagreement escalated, leading to the alleged firing of gunshots by Salasya’s security detail.

Fortunately, bystanders intervened, pulling Indimuli to safety. Subsequently, Salasya was arrested and released on police cash bail, pending arraignment.

In November 2023, he was also involved in a fight with a group of alleged goons at an event attended by Kakamega Governor Fernandes Barasa. The altercation erupted when Salasya attempted to criticize the County Governor over the revival of Mumias Sugar Company

Similarly, chaos ensued at a funeral ceremony in Kakamega County in May 2023, further staining his political reputation.
