In Meru County, the Mwangaza family, led by Governor Kawira Mwangaza, has recently brrn into the media spotlight with the emergence of Timothy Kinoti, the governor’s eldest son.
Known as Timo to his close circles, Timothy has found himself entangled in the web of controversy surrounding the tragic murder of Meru blogger Daniel Muthiani, alias Sniper.
On Friday, the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) confirmed the arrest of Meru Governor Kawira Mwangaza’s son and brother.
Documents seen Kenyan Report, revealed that the two, Timothy Kinoti alias Timo and Murangiri Kenneth (Mwangaza’s brother) were among the five suspects arrested on Thursday, January 4, 2024, and booked across various police stations within Nairobi and Kiambu.
Before the recent unfortunate events, Timothy Kinoti maintained a relatively low profile, occasionally making public appearances with his prominent parents.
One such instance was during the impeachment hearing of Governor Mwangaza at the Senate on November 7, 2023.
Little did he know that the quiet life he had led would soon be disrupted by allegations that linked him to a heinous crime.
Timothy’s journey in the public eye began at the Pan African Christian University, where he successfully graduated on July 14, 2023.
“PAC University where leaders are made. You have made it. Congratulations Timo, the great son. We are happy. Blessings and blessed be the name of the Lord,” Kawira stated as she Proudly shared the moment on social media.
Not just content with academic achievements, Timothy Kinoti has ventured into the business world as the Chief Executive Officer of the Hustler Group of Companies.
His interests extend beyond business, with a notable foray into real estate. In a mirror image of his mother’s political enthusiasm, Timothy harbors aspirations of entering politics, with his eyes set on becoming a Member of Parliament in the future.
Timothy is happily married to Judy Korole, and their union was sealed in a ceremony held in Meru on April 28, 2021.
Governor Mwangaza, taking to social media, congratulated the couple, welcoming Judy into the Meru County family.
“Congratulations, Judy and Timo. You have no boundaries. Great son you are! We appreciate our daughter from Rendille. She is beautiful. Welcome to Meru County,” Mwangaza posted on her Facebook Account.
