Kisii County Woman Representative, Dorice Donya, has found herself facing criticism after sharing a video in which she is seen lecturing her bodyguard.
In the video recorded on Tuesday, December 26, Donya can be heard calling out the bodyguard, who had allegedly not reported to work.
During the phone conversation captured in the video, it became apparent that the bodyguard had not been on duty for three weeks due to the loss of his wife.
Donya, in the video captioned ”useless officer,” expressed her confusion about how mourning the loss of the bodyguard’s wife was related to his work responsibilities.
“How are you, officer? I have not seen you for three weeks at work. I know you buried her two weeks ago. So you stayed for three weeks because you are mourning your wife. How is mourning your wife related to your work? You are paid for what you produce at work. You have not come to work for three weeks, and you are telling me you are mourning your wife, and I know you buried her,” Donya remarked in the video.
The video sparked heavy criticism from Kenyans, who questioned the morality of the politician’s actions.
Commentators on the video deemed Donya heartless for reprimanding an officer who had recently buried his wife.
