Surprising reports from the neighboring country of Tanzania indicate that a woman who was reported dead in 2018 while in the maternity ward and later buried has shocked many by reappearing alive on the streets.
After this incident raised concerns among the residents of the Kigoma region, the police force in the country had to intervene and provide clarification.
According to information broadcasted by Ayo TV, the woman who was reported dead in 2018 at the age of 40 was said to have been seen on the streets in November of this year, having allegedly passed away in October 2018 while giving birth at the Baptiste hospital in the municipality of Kigoma Ujiji. She was buried in the area where she lived.
Offering an explanation, the local police commander confirmed the incident and stated that this is not the first time that someone allegedly seen to have been buried has appeared alive.
The commander, Filemon Makungu, mentioned that they have already sent samples to the laboratory and are waiting for scientific confirmation, emphasizing that this is not a case of resurrection.
“The reports are there that there are currently two incidents of people who are alleged to have… not resurrected!…that they have been seen alive even though it is said they died. Now we have investigated all of them, and we need to confirm scientifically. We have already sent samples, but we haven’t received results yet. Once we get the results, I will provide complete information,” he said.
This is not the first time that media outlets from the country have reported on the dead reappearing on the streets seeking a way back home.
In August, a similar incident was reported in the Katavi region, involving a 33-year-old woman who allegedly died in 2018 and was seen looking for directions to return home in August 2023.
“Five years later, she was seen alive at a water collection point wearing the clothes she was buried in. This happened in the Katavi region,” reported Ayo TV.
