Pastor Ezekiel Odero has stirred up controversy by asserting that a specific t-shirt design has the potential to disrupt marriages and relationships.
The founder of New Life Prayer Centre and Church, Pastor Ezekiel Odero, issued this warning against wearing t-shirts featuring an African map print during a sermon at his church.
In a video that has since gone viral, Pastor Odero pointed out a male congregant wearing a green t-shirt with an African map print.
He explicitly instructed the young man never to wear the t-shirt again, asserting that it is reserved for divorcees.
According to the Kilifi-based preacher, the t-shirt carries a spiritual essence that can obstruct or dissolve marriages.
“Never wear this cloth again. Anybody who wears this t-shirt won’t marry or get married. It is for divorced people only. Don’t buy that cloth wherever you find it being sold. I know business people will be upset with me, but there is no cloth that doesn’t have a meaning,” emphasized Pastor Odero.
He elaborated on his belief that all clothing holds spiritual significance and can influence the wearer’s destiny. Pastor Odero cited the example of former President Uhuru Kenyatta, noting that he altered his dressing style after assuming the nation’s leadership.
“Every cloth has a spirit that makes you attracted to it. Remember before Uhuru Kenyatta became president he was wearing any outfit, but when he became the president, he was told to wear dark blue suits and a red tie. That red tie means leadership,” explained the pastor.
