In a disgusting tale, Issa, a hardworking man who spent five years working in Qatar, returned home to Kenya only to discover that his beloved wife had squandered their KSh 2.4 million in savings.
Issa had diligently sent money back home with the intention of building a home for his mother and eventually for himself.
Little did he know that his dreams would be shattered upon his return.
In an exclusive interview with TUKO.co.ke, Issa shared the painful details of his ordeal.
He revealed that his wife was the sole authorized person to withdraw money from the account, which held a substantial KSh 2.4 million.
“My wife is the only one who could withdraw money from the account, which had over KSh 2.4 million. My target was to build a house for my mum then build mine later,” he complained.
His original plan was to build a house for his mother before moving on to construct his own residence.
The shock and devastation struck Issa upon his return to Kenya, as he discovered that the savings were entirely depleted.
When he confronted his wife, she explained that she had used the money to pay her brother’s school fees.
Compounding the issue, Issa had concealed the fact that he was working in Qatar from his family, opting to tell them he was employed in Mombasa.
The secrecy surrounding his job may have contributed to misunderstandings and exacerbated the devastating financial loss.
Despite the grim circumstances, Issa found solace in the fact that he hadn’t sent all his earnings to the account.
Determined to fulfill at least part of his plan, he managed to build a modest house for his mother, though it fell short of his initial KSh 1.3 million target.
