Sad as Pregnant Woman Loses Job after Innocently Yawning During Business Meeting

A woman from Australia has shared the circumstances that led to her losing her job while pregnant.

She recounted being in a business meeting where she yawned due to fatigue, but her employers interpreted it as a sign of boredom with the job.

Consequently, they handed her an immediate termination letter, oblivious to the fact that her yawning was a result of the exhaustion associated with pregnancy.

The woman, who was in the early months of her pregnancy, had been working at a digital sales agency, where she unintentionally yawned during a meeting with a client.

The individual assumed the expectant mother must have been ‘fed up’ with them, prompting an instant termination from the agency and a scathing Google review.

Many online users found it hard to believe the company’s reaction to the woman’s yawning, describing it as avoiding dealing with an ‘ungracious and unforgiving’ client.

“Do you know we got fired by a client for yawning in a client meeting once?” Cherie, the CEO of The Digital Picnic, wrote in a post on LinkedIn.

She explained that the ‘yawner’ was her studio manager, who was in the early stages of pregnancy in 2018.

“You know that time when no one knows you’re pregnant, but you’re fighting to stay awake at work past 3 am because your WHOLE BODY is making ANOTHER WHOLE BODY?” Cherie shared.

When the studio manager yawned, the client responded with, “It’s obvious that you’re tired.”

Later, they terminated the agency and left a ‘very negative’ Google review, which has since been removed.

“We regret that this person withdrew their Google review, as we always enjoyed revisiting it to remind ourselves what we will never allow back into our client roster,” Cherie said.
