Ohangla star Tom Mboya Angaga, better known by his stage name Atommy Sifa, is currently facing an unexpected challenge that has led to the postponement of at least 16 scheduled shows across various entertainment venues in Nyanza.

This unfortunate turn of events is a result of the musician falling ill and being advised by his doctor to refrain from performing in noisy places, including clubs.

Atommy Sifa, recognized for his contributions to the Ohangla music genre, claimed that his  recent health setback forced him to prioritize his well-being over his festive season performances.

“We regret to inform our fans that due to the unexpected illness of our band leader Atommy Sifa, we are unable to continue with the planned festive concerts,” His manager, Daddy Epizo, sent out a message to Atommy Sifa’s fans.

The message also included a plea for fans to keep the musician in their thoughts and prayers during this challenging period.

“However, we will keep you updated on his health progress in due course. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause. Thank you for your support and co-operation”.

The planned performances, spread across the Lake Region in places like Kisii, Siaya, and Migori, were initially scheduled from December 15 to January 1, 2024.

The itinerary even included a concert on Mfangano Island in the middle of Lake Victoria.

The musician had faced both support and criticism earlier in the year when he sought financial assistance to replace his stolen instruments.

Despite the challenges, Atommy Sifa released a poignant song titled “Atommy Sifa Jakwecho (kik ulimita),” a musical expression of gratitude to those who supported him during tough times and a response to those who doubted him.
