Azimio La Umoja leader Raila Odinga has finally revealed who invited him to State House during King Charles III visit.
Speaking during the launch of Mau Mau Freedom Fighters Foundation at Tamarind Hotel in Nairobi, Raila revealed that he was invited by the King whom he claimed is his personal friend.
“Actually, I was invited by the King to the dinner at State House because he is a personal friend and we have worked with him in his foundation in rehabilitating Lake Naivasha which was polluted and marine life was dying in the lake,” said Raila.
He added, “We met first in Oslo with the Prime Minister of Norway and he asked what his foundation could do. There were four projects we proposed Mau conservation, Abadares, Nairobi River and Lake Naivasha. They opted for Lake Naivasha then he organized a dinner at his residence in London and I went with a delegation from here.”
Odinga on Tuesday joined other high-profile leaders at a State banquet organised in honour of King Charles III and Queen Camilla.
The ODM leader was accompanied by National Assembly minority leader Opiyo Wandayi.
At State House, Raila was seen engaging various leaders including Cabinet Secretaries and politicians across the political divide.
Among those who were seen engaging the ODM leader are CS Alfred Mutua, UDA SG Cleophas Malala and President William Ruto’s security Advisor Monica Juma.
This was the first time Raila is seen at State House after the 2022 elections which he lost to Ruto.
