A man, weary of being ridiculed online by his friends for lacking facial hair, has taken the step to end the humiliation by undergoing a beard transplantation surgery.
Apart from sparse stubble, the man had no hair beneath his chin, perhaps causing a dent in his self-esteem.
The video documenting the surgery was posted on the X platform, formerly known as Twitter, by the user @the_Lawrenz.
He shared a video on the platform showcasing the moment the man underwent the surgery and his transformed appearance.
Post-surgery, he appeared to have a full beard, smiling as he displayed his transformation.
But what procedure is followed to achieve a beard transplantation?
According to Healthline, beard transplantation is just that: hair is taken from one part of the body and transplanted onto your chin or wherever you want the beard to grow.
A doctor would first need to assess your skin and hair to ensure you are a suitable candidate, and then you’d have to decide if it’s worth the cost.
Like any medical procedure, there is no 100% guarantee that you will be satisfied with the results. Scarring from beard transplantation is always a risk.
However, if you can find a qualified provider, it may be worth at least exploring whether a few hours in the doctor’s office can provide a lifetime of permanent facial hair.
The procedure involves harvesting grafts of hair follicles, usually between 2,000 to 5,000 or more, from the back of the head, typically near your ears or slightly below, and placing them on the face.
Each graft is an individual hair follicle that is transplanted.
