Detectives from the DCI in Kisii County have apprehended a man suspected of murdering the wife and two children of his brother.
According to information posted on the DCI’s social media pages, the 27-year-old man, Alex Ayata Migosi from Mesaria village in Kisii County, was arrested after being on the run following the heinous incident.
“Alex Ayata Migosi, who went into hiding after the murders, was nabbed last night, shortly after the incident on Tuesday, the 14th, in the Kegogi area of Marani sub-county, Kisii,” part of the DCI statement read.
The DCI stated that shortly before the incident, neighbors reported witnessing a fierce altercation between the murder suspect and his brother, Patrick Omuga, over an unconfirmed issue.
In a despicable resolution to settle the dispute, Ayata secretly entered the house of his brother with a machete, brutally killing the three defenseless victims in fear and condemnation from neighbors.
Security forces in the area were mobilized to prevent the perpetrator from leaving the county, efforts that bore fruit last night.
He is currently being processed for arraignment in court.
He killed the wife of his brother and two children aged 4 and 3, respectively.
