Kenyan renowned artist and businesswoman, Esther Akoth, popularly known as Akothee, has confirmed that her marriage to Denis ‘Omosh’ Schweizer has come to an end.
Akothee addressed the long-standing rumors during a live session with her fans on social media on Tuesday night. In the session, the mother of five confirmed that she ended her brief marriage in June, while she and Omosh were on their honeymoon.
“I have moved on from that relationship. It no longer exists. I want to tell you that I left that relationship in June. However, I won’t go into details,” Akothee said.
She added, “I enjoyed my marriage, I enjoyed my wedding. I have no regrets. I had my wedding on my birthday; if things had gone wrong, like they did, then I would have no regrets.”
The 43-year-old musician hinted that she decided to end her marriage while they were enjoying their honeymoon, having learned some things that she couldn’t tolerate. However, she didn’t immediately inform the Swiss national about her decision. Even when they parted ways, she lied to him, saying she wouldn’t leave him.
“I left the relationship in June. I usually leave my relationships while still in them. While we were on our honeymoon, I realized some things that I couldn’t tolerate. Then he asked me, ‘Will you leave me?’ I said, ‘No, my love, I love you.’ But in reality, I had already left,” Akothee recounted.
The singer, whose life is filled with drama, made it clear that she is currently single, stating that she won’t allow any man to affect her psychologically.
“I am not someone who forces things. If it doesn’t work for me, even if it works for you, it doesn’t work for me. The reason for not staying in toxic relationships, which I don’t understand, is because my money is in my head. When I allow any man to mess with my head, he disrupts my pocket,” she said.
She added, “I won’t apologize for anything. If the relationship didn’t work for me, what would I do? It didn’t work, it worked for a few days, when the mask fell off, I couldn’t stay there. Why should I stay there? By the time you never saw Denis on my social media accounts, it was a time I was managing my exit.”
