Former Nairobi Diaries cast member Maureen Imbayi, popularly known as Black Cinderella, has allegedly been evicted from her house in Ruaka after failing to pay the monthly rent of Ksh 150,000.
According to BNN News, Cinderella had a confrontation with her landlord after reports of her eviction from the Ruaka house went viral on social media.
The socialite has now relocated to Roysambu, where it is reported that she is paying a monthly rent of Ksh 20,000.
This incident comes months after Cinderella was involved in another scam that went viral on social media.
Cinderella spent two days in custody after being accused of conning a Nigerian national of Ksh 540,000.
According to a report filed at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) police station on May 30, Imbayi was using her Snapchat account to dupe Nigerians living in Kenya that she could change Nairas to Kenyan Shillings.
‘Koko Send,’ a money exchange bureau targeting Nigerians, had apparently entered into a partnership with Imbayi, making her their brand ambassador.
Imbayi opened an account with Wema Bank, a Nigerian lender, to further her scheme. Clients were supposed to deposit Nairas into Imbayi’s Wema Bank account.
She would then send them back an equivalent amount in Kenyan Shillings after deducting her commission.
However, Imbayi disappeared after receiving the money, pretending that she was no longer in the country and had traveled to Lagos, Nigeria. Suspecting that he had been scammed, the victim filed a report against Imbayi, leading to her arrest and subsequent refund of the money to the victim.
