Tanzanian superstar Diamond Platnumz has stirred controversy by selectively acknowledging his children, sparking a public dispute with Hamisa Mobetto, the mother of his son, Dylan.
Despite being a father to four children, Diamond has been excluding Dylan from his public recognition and celebrations, leading to tension between him and Hamisa.
Recently, Diamond was seen bonding with his three children, Princess Tiffah and Prince Nillan (with ex-partner Zari Hassan), and Naseeb Junior (with ex-partner Tanasha Donna Oketch) during a private jet trip.
However, Dylan, the son he shares with Hamisa Mobetto, was conspicuously absent.
This exclusion reignited the ongoing paternity dispute between Diamond and Hamisa.
While Diamond has been publicly acknowledging his other children, he has remained silent about Dylan’s paternity.
Hamisa expressed her frustration on social media, urging people to mind their own business amid the ongoing controversy.
The mother of two shared a short clip where she was seen drinking some water at an undisclosed location and said that she was only minding her business.
“Drink water & mind your business,” Hamisa Mobetto captioned her post.
Diamond and Hamisa’s paternity dispute first became public in 2022 when Diamond chose to celebrate his other children’s birthdays but ignored Dylan.
Diamond threw his daughter Tiffah a huge birthday party in August 2022 and even made it clear that he had chosen her to be the heir to his multibillion-shillings empire.
However, Diamond totally snubbed Dylan’s birthday. Note that Tiffah celebrates her birthday on August 6 while Dylan celebrates his birthday on August 8.
Speaking to Tanzanian journalists in August 2022, Dylan’s mother Hamisa Mobetto said she had no idea why Diamond snubbed their son on his birthday.
“Kusema ukweli sifahamu kwa nini nadhani hilo swali ni vizuri sana akiulizwa yeye mwenyewe binafsi mi ntakua sina majibu na mi si mtu ambaye anauliza nadhani ni maamuzi tu mtu unaamka tu asubui unaamua,” Hamisa said.
Asked if Diamond was fulfilling his fatherly duties to Dylan, Hamisa said; “I really don’t want to get into details.”
In December 2022, Diamond refused to confirm or deny that he was Dylan’s biological father.
The Wasafi boss stated that it was only Hamisa Mobetto who knew her son Dylan’s biological father.
“Sitaki kumuhukumu mtoto kwasababu ni malaika. Na muda mwengine vitu kama hivi vinaweza kumkosesha mtoto haki zake za msingi. Hizi Habari nimeanza kuzisikia kitambo sana lakini siku zote mama ndie anaejua baba wa mtoto,” Diamond said during an interview with Wasafi TV on December 30, 2022.
Despite numerous questions from the media, Diamond has neither confirmed nor denied his paternity regarding Dylan.
Hamisa, on her part, has consistently maintained her silence about the issue, only stating that Diamond was the father of her son.
