In a tragic incident on Saturday night, an administration policewoman fatally shot her husband following a domestic dispute at their residence near Eldoret town.

According to reports, the couple had been experiencing frequent quarrels. On the night of the incident, the woman, who was on duty at the Kenya Bureau of Standards (KEBS) offices, returned home, leading to another altercation.

Witnesses from the neighborhood reported hearing loud arguments, escalating into gunshots, prompting residents to flee for safety.

Several neighbors recounted that the couple was engaged in a heated argument before the gunshots rang out. The couple, who have four children, were in the house during the altercation. The terrifying situation led the children to scream for help as they escaped the house.

Uasin Gishu police county commander, Benjamin Mwanthi, confirmed the incident and stated that it is currently under investigation. “The female officer is now in our custody, and we are investigating the matter,” he confirmed.

Reports indicate that the assailant shot her husband multiple times, firing more than 12 bullets inside their house, before fleeing the scene. She subsequently turned herself in at the Eldoret police station, where she was apprehended. The policewoman is set to be arraigned in court on Monday to face charges related to the tragic incident.
