The Azimio Coalition has issued a strong call for the immediate release of former Mungiki Leader Maina Njenga, who they claim was abducted under mysterious circumstances.

In a press statement released on Sunday, Azimio expressed deep concern over the disappearance of Njenga and voiced their demands for his safe return.

According to the Azimio Coalition, the circumstances surrounding Maina Njenga’s disappearance are shrouded in mystery.

They allege that Njenga’s abductors were armed and had concealed their identities, further raising questions about the motives behind his abduction.

Additionally, the kidnappers were reported to be driving Subaru vehicles, which adds an element of intrigue to the case.

One particularly troubling aspect of this incident is that Njenga’s family remains in the dark about his whereabouts. This lack of information and communication has heightened concerns for his safety.

The Azimio Coalition’s press statement suggests that the abductors did not identify themselves or provide any legal justification for their actions. Consequently, the coalition suspects the involvement of rogue elements within the police force.

Moreover, the statement posits the possibility that Njenga may have been arrested by the Special Support Unit.

While condemning this apparent abduction, Azimio demands the immediate and unconditional release of Maina Njenga or, alternatively, his presentation in court to clarify the circumstances surrounding his detention.

Azimio Coalition has issued a stern warning, stating that they will hold the Inspector General of Police fully accountable for Maina Njenga’s safety.

They also expressed deep concerns about a growing trend where leaders with dissenting political opinions from the ruling party are allegedly being harassed or abducted, which they believe is a tactic employed by the government to suppress opposition politicians.
