A police officer in Prince George’s County, USA, has been suspended from duty after a video circulating on social media showed him kissing a woman before getting into the back seat of a patrol car, as confirmed by the Prince George’s County Police Department, as reported by CBS.
The officer in question, identified as Francesco Marlett, had his law enforcement authority suspended pending an investigation.
“The PGPD Chief is aware of a video circulating on social media involving one of our officers,” Prince George’s County Police stated. “As soon as we became aware earlier today, we initiated an investigation to determine the circumstances.”
According to a media affiliate, WJZ, at The Baltimore Banner, Nelson O, who declined to provide his last name out of fear of retaliation, said he recorded the incident, which was then shared on someone’s TikTok account.
He was at Oxon Hill’s Carson Park with his child and family playing soccer on Sunday night when he saw the officer pacing around, appearing “suspicious, but when he saw the girl [he started] recording because something didn’t seem right,” he said, adding that the woman appeared to be in her twenties.
The two remained in the car for about 40 minutes before exiting from the back of the police car and quickly leaving in their own vehicle, according to Nelson O, as reported by The Banner.
WUSA9, a CBS affiliate in Washington, D.C., reported that the video has been viewed millions of times. In the video shared on various social media platforms, children can be seen running around the park, and according to neighbors, there were several families with children present at the time of the incident, according to the station.
