Kenyan rapper Petra, known for her hit “Rider,” has made an announcement, signaling her exit from the music industry. Taking to Instagram, she revealed her decision to disassociate from the music world, with just one more song left in her repertoire.
In a heartfelt Instagram post, Petra stated, “I, Petra Bockle, do not want to be associated with the music industry in any way, shape, or form. I hereby disown it willingly in sound mind. GMI by @kingpheezle feat me is the last you will ever hear from me musically. I appreciate all the love from you, my fans ❤️.”
Petra also shared a teaser for her upcoming track, “GMI (Goodbye music industry),” featuring herself and @kingpheezle. Notably, she emphasized that the lyrics, including the word “Bitch,” are intended to be gender-neutral, reflecting inclusivity.

Petra has done collabos with some of the leading stars in East Africa among them Khaligraph Jones, Band Beca, Joh Makini, Mbogi Genje, Bahati, Mejja Odi Wa Murang’a among others.
Two years ago, she released a collabo with Jamaican singer Vybez Kartel who is behind bars.
