On Saturday night, Tanzanian superstar Diamond Platnumz faced an unexpected turn of events during his performance in Mtwara. The concert took an unfortunate turn when, just 30 minutes into his set, the area experienced a sudden blackout, plunging the venue into darkness. As a result, Diamond was forced to cancel the show after performing only three songs.
The disappointed crowd was left with no choice but to disperse, their anticipation for a thrilling night of music dashed. However, in an effort to make amends, the event’s MC announced that all those who had attended the disrupted show would be treated as VIPs for a rescheduled performance on the following day, Sunday.
The MC explained, “We start in the morning till 4 PM. We ask you to come early in the morning. You that are here today are going to be VIPs tomorrow.”
Diamond Platnumz took to social media to apologize for the abrupt cancellation and to reassure his fans that the show would go on. He announced that the rescheduled event would take place on Sunday morning, with various artists from the Wasafi Festival lineup performing live at the Nangwanda Stadium in Mtwara. The best part? Entrance would be free.
“MTWARA!!!! MTWARA!!!!
In his social media post, Diamond invited everyone to join in, emphasizing that it was an opportunity for families, children, friends, and relatives to come together and enjoy the music.
