“The Ngeny family once owned the Westside Mall, but as time passed, they decided to hand over the hotel to me. This is when I began to contemplate the idea of expanding into a restaurant and club.” Aunish recalled.
What began as a familiar hotspot evolved into something even grander under Avnish’s visionary leadership â the Westside Lounge Kericho, one of the biggest lounges in the county.
For Aunish, the decision to dive into the world of entertainment was more than just a business endeavor; it was a lifelong passion.
With a deep-rooted love for DJing and a sharp entrepreneurial instinct, he discerned the untapped potential for an electrifying entertainment hub in the area.
In 2015, he took the leap and brought his vision to life by founding Wessyde Lounge Kericho. Initially, the club could accommodate 100 people, but as word of its excellence spread, it underwent significant renovations in 2018 and 2019, expanding to a remarkable capacity of 350 guests.
What sets Wessyde Lounge Kericho apart is its unwavering commitment to hosting top DJs from across the nation.
Avnish’s mission was not solely driven by profits but also by the desire to offer the community an exceptional entertainment experience.
The club has invested significantly in cutting-edge facilities, including large screens that make it the perfect venue for catching live events and sports matches.
Operating in Kericho does present its share of unique challenges, given its relatively modest size and conservative spending habits of its residents.
Nevertheless, Avnish is proud to emphasize that Wessyde Lounge Kericho has carved a niche for itself by serving some of the finest cuisine in town, catering to both the local community and visitors alike.
