A recent wedding has stirred a buzz on social media as a video of the event surfaced online, revealing a highly unusual marriage setup.
The ceremony captured the moment a man got married to ten women at once, a rare occurrence even in countries where polygamy is accepted.
In the 13-second footage, the groom is seen kneeling before his ten wives, while one of them sits on his knees for a photo shoot after the ceremony.
The extreme polygamous union has left social media users in awe and sparked discussions about the practice.
In a related story, another man, Athuman Yengayenga, hailing from Shanwe, Mpanda Municipality in Katavi province of Tanzania, recently wedded three women in a single ceremony.
During an interview on Millard Ayo’s YouTube channel, Yengayenga expressed his desire to have even more wives, aiming for a total of ten.
He emphasized that there are many women waiting to be married and encouraged men to take advantage of this opportunity. According to him, approaching potential wives involves a simple matter of communication and presenting one’s intentions.
Yengayenga also stressed the importance of obtaining the consent of his current wives before pursuing additional marriages to ensure harmony within the household.
As of now, Yengayenga divides his time between his three wives – Fatuma Rafaeli, Asha Pius, and Mariam John – spending two days with each of them weekly. He takes great care to give each wife equal attention to maintain peace and avoid any tension among them.
