A Nairobi resident, Samson Kipng’etich, is reaching out for assistance and advice after his boss unexpectedly handed him KSh 40,000 in old currency notes.
Kipng’etich received this money with the directive from his employer to use it for personal betterment, should he manage to convert it into the current currency.
Kipng’etich, who is currently undergoing an attachment at a Nairobi-based company, shared his story with TUKO.co.ke. He explained that the bundle of old banknotes had been forgotten by his boss and was discovered recently.
The boss then entrusted Kipng’etich with the task of exchanging them for newer notes.
However, the young man was met with disappointment upon learning that the Central Bank of Kenya no longer accepts the old currency notes for exchange.
Expressing his predicament, he said, “Please inquire from your readers if there is any way I can get the notes changed because the money would really be of help to me.”
Kipng’etich, who had been pursuing studies at a Nairobi college before beginning his attachment, is now seeking advice and solutions from the public. T
he unforeseen situation has left him in a position where he hopes to turn these old notes into an opportunity for personal growth, in line with his boss’s encouragement.
