In a jubilant event unfolding in Ndeiya, Kiambu County, gospel singer Muigai Wa Njoroge is embracing a culturally significant tradition as he pays dowry for his second wife, Queen Stacey.
This customary event, known as “ruracio” in Kikuyu culture, is currently underway, drawing attention and intrigue, especially due to the absence of Muigai’s first wife.
Muigai’s decision to take Queen Stacey as his second wife sparked discussions, with his motivation being to provide stability for his children.
He expressed, “I couldn’t allow the mother of my children to wander while taking care of my kids. I have chosen to have two wives for a reason.” However, the absence of his first wife, Njeri wa Muigai, from the event raises questions about the dynamics of their polygamous marriage.
Arriving in style in a sleek grey Lexus car at 3:00 pm, Muigai made a striking entrance. Accompanied by his groomsmen, donned in white shirts and black trousers, he led a spirited dance into the venue.
Muigai’s ensemble featured an all-white attire, with a sleeveless coat adorned with accents of gold and snow-colored hues. Known for his creativity, scenes from the ruracio ceremony will even find their way into his upcoming music video.
The event’s lively Master of Ceremonies is the renowned Kikuyu music artist Karangu wa Muraya. The occasion boasts an array of dignitaries, including Kiambu Senator Karungo Wa Thangwa, media personality Njogu Wa Njoroge, and comedian Desagu.
