On Sunday, July 30, 2023, the prominent lawyer and social activist, Oliver Barker-Vormawor, made a thought-provoking statement on his Facebook wall.
He suggested that young people should delay marriage until they reach a more mature age.
”Don’t get married before you are 38. Stretch it to 40 if you can! But if you are smart, never get married. Shalom,” he posted
His followers had mixed reactions to this idea, with some agreeing and others seeking further explanation to help them form their opinions.
This is what the had to say;

Barker-Vormawor’s viewpoint may seem counterintuitive as societal norms often encourage people to marry young and start a family early to fulfill their parental responsibilities before retirement or declining health.
However, he argued that factors such as failed marriages, lingering trauma from others’ experiences, the high cost of weddings and dowries, and other challenges have made marriage a daunting prospect for many young individuals.
