Celebrated media personality Alex Mwakideu found himself in the spotlight once again after his appearance at Radio 47 on Saturday, August 19, 2023. The unexpected visit raised eyebrows and triggered speculations, prompting Mwakideu to issue a clarification via his social media accounts.
In a statement released on his socials, Mwakideu explained that his presence at Radio 47 was a result of an invitation extended by his former colleague Ali Hassan Kauleni.
He clarified that he was a guest on one of their shows and sought to dispel any confusion that might arise from his visit to a rival station.
“Shukran kwa mwaliko @alikauleni jiunge nasi moja kwa moja ndani ya @radio47_ke kuanzia sasa hadi saa tano asubuhi. Mada ni Uanahabari na Elimu. Jamani wanablogu, mimi ni mwalikwa tu. 🙈🤣😂🤣🙈,” Mwakideu’s statement read.
However, his close friend and MP Jalang’o chimed in, playfully cautioning Mwakideu to avoid mind games with the audience. “Ati mgeni! Hii mchezo yako tunaijua! 😂😂,” Jalang’o commented.
The public reaction to Mwakideu’s post varied. Some pressed him for clarity on whether he had officially joined Radio 47 or not. This uncertainty came after a recent episode where Mwakideu had announced his exit from Milele FM, only to retract the statement shortly afterward.
Earlier in the week, Mwakideu had stirred confusion by announcing his departure from Milele FM, expressing gratitude to his listeners and colleagues. However, he swiftly reversed his decision, stating, “Yooh, bado niko Milele FM. Kumbe munanipenda hivi… aaawwweeee… Thank you for all the phone calls and text messages, we had a small misunderstanding, which has been sorted. So we are now good to go! Itambe Milele!”
