The Public Service Commission (PSC) has recently announced an exciting opportunity for aspiring professionals with the launch of the Public Service Internship Programme (PSIP).
Under this initiative, the PSC is offering 8,000 internship positions in various Government Ministries, Departments, and Agencies.
To be eligible for consideration, candidates must hold a Bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognized university.
Moreover, applicants should have graduated no earlier than 2017 and possess proficient computer skills.
These requirements aim to ensure that the selected interns have a solid educational background and the necessary technological acumen to contribute effectively to their respective roles.
The roles and responsibilities of the interns will be diverse, as they will be assigned to various departments across the public sector.
Throughout the program, interns will collaborate closely with their supervisors, engaging in tasks and projects that align with their areas of deployment.
This hands-on experience will enable them to develop practical skills and apply their theoretical knowledge to real-world scenarios.
The internship period will span 12 months, during which participants are encouraged to actively engage in relevant mentorship activities.
Additionally, interns will be given additional responsibilities designed to foster their personal and professional growth. By documenting the skills they acquire during the program, participants can showcase their progress and dedication.
During their tenure, the interns will receive a stipend, the rate of which will be determined by the government.
This financial support aims to ensure that the program is accessible to a diverse pool of talented graduates.
Upon successfully completing the internship program, interns will be awarded a certificate, acknowledging their hard work and commitment throughout the 12-month period.
This certification can serve as a valuable addition to their resumes, opening doors to future career opportunities.
Applications for the internship positions are currently open, and eligible graduates are encouraged to apply through the Commission’s job portal at www.publicservice.go.ke or www.psck.go.ke.
The deadline for application submission is set for August 14, 2023.
