Mombasa governor Hassan Joho has finally opened up lifting the lid revealing that Deputy President Willliam Ruto has been holding talks with some of the NASA principals.
According to the Mombasa County chief some of the embattled NASA principals have been holding talking with the DP linked UDA for a potential partnership ahead of the 2022 polls.
He added that when a section of the former principals got into a pact to forming One Kenyan alliance, then all was quiet, yet when a one and united Kenya is sought, then every quarter is jittery.
“When these NASA people were forming One Kenya Alliance and when Wiper was doing a cooperation pact with Jubilee, we kept quiet and never threw stones at them.
“Currently, we are even aware that some of them are negotiating with UDA, but as ODM we are not complaining. Why must they continue dragging Kenyans seeking a united country behind?” Joho posed.
The former Kisauni Member of Parliament questioned why the other NASA principals criticize ODM for plans to join forces with Jubilee, yet they have also formed the One Kenya Alliance.
On allegations of ODM betraying its former coalition partners, Joho stated that the party did not clinch the presidential seat in 2017, and therefore yet to achieve its mission, and hence in no way will it support another party’s candidate.
Joho maintained that the main work of the party is to craft alliances aimed at capturing power a thing that never happened in their case.
“If we did not win and parties are purely formed to capture political power and we have not captured power, then nobody should force us to support them,” Joho opined.
Responding to Mombasa County chief, other NASA coalition ANC and Ford-Kenya denied being in talks with either the DP or his UDA linked Party.
