The 2013 Presidential aspirant Jaffer Isaak Sora who was allegedly arrested with 445 kilograms bhang worth Ksh13 million on June 18, 2019, has alleged that he was offered cash to eliminate President Uhuru Kenyatta after the 2017 general election.
The exiled Kenyan alleged that he was approached by powerful government figures and was offered Ksh. 200 million to hire gunmen to assassinate President Kenyatta after the 2017 August general polls.
The former presidential aspirant who is currently residing in the United Kingdom has also laid claims that influential individuals are after his life after he failed to perform the assignment of the ill-fated order.
”In 2017, intelligence officers came to my office in Nairobi while we were campaigning, and they said to me I would be given 200 million, to go and get gunmen from Ethiopia so that we can kill Uhuru Kenyatta after the elections….From that time I feared even a tree next to me. I feared even my own shadow,” Jaffer stated.
The ex-soldier said he has a lot of hidden secrets of the government adding that when he received information from the National Intelligence Security (NIS) officers to kill the president-elect, he was forced to seek help from two European embassies since he did not know who to trust since he was advised to leave the country with an immediate effect.
”I was advised to leave the country. I left the country after the nullification of the election. I never went back to Kenya the whole of 2018. At the end of 2018 for the first time, I arrived to see my family, hoping everything was right. I was arrested in the airport, taken to Ngong forest police station. Detained for seven hours and I was tortured and released to Parklands police station 8 p.m.,” he added.
Reports further indicated that after his 30 May post on social media, the Anti Terrorism Police Unit officials raided the former presidential aspirant’s house and confiscated the passports of his wife and children.
