Uasin Gishu Women Representative Gladys Sholei has opposed the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) move that anybody seeking elective positions should have a University degree.
IEBC directive that all leaders seeking elective posts must have a University degree, a thing that did not land well to the ears of Uasin Gishu Women Rep who asserted that there is no connection between academic papers and leadership.
Speaking during an interview at K24 punchline TV show with Deberl Ainea where she had been hosted together with Narok Senator Ledama Olekina, Sholei strongly condemned the IEBC move giving an example of Mugabe who had over seven degrees but reportedly disoriented the Zimbabwe economy.
“History has shown us that having a degree is not a guarantee that one is intelligent, look at Mugambe he had 7 degrees but he sunk Zimbabwe,” Shollei stated.
According to the outspoken women leader, all elective posts should be open to all leaders despite their educational background since some leaders are intelligent even though they don’t have the said university degrees.
