The residents of Kiambaa Constituency were over the Weekend treated to a free drama during a campaign rally when a section of the DP Ruto allied UDA supporters faced off with their ruling Jubilee party counterparts.
The two opposing parties were drumming up support for their favorite candidate, even as the campaigns die down, as election day approaches.
In a video and pictures seen by Kenyan report, a group of youthful UDA supporters are seen with a wheelbarrow and banners in their yellow T-shirts dancing as they invade the Jubilee party campaign trail.
They continued their chant and active dancing as they encroach and mix with the jubilee caravan as their red opponents look on.
The two parties will face off in the upcoming Kiambaa Constituency by-elections following the death of Paul Koinange in the month of March through Covid-19 complications.
Kiambaa mini poll is slotted for July 15, 2021, with the Jubilee party settling on businessman Kariri Njama while UDA fronted John Njuguna Wanjiku for the race.
It is an acid test for the President and his Deputy in the anticipated bruising battle ahead following the DP and allies success in the recent Rurii and Juja by-elections.
Jubilee outfit has been on the losing streak not winning a single by-election in the Juja, Bonchari and other recent by-elections.
The DP Ruto linked outfit has recently been growing and expanding its borders with offices to be opened world over, USA included.
Dr. Ruto though has not been actively present on the ground, but the party is a force to reckon with, giving the ruling outfit and other opponents a run for their money.
The Washington Seattle office will be launched on the Friday, June 18. During the event, Murang’a Senator Irungu Kang’ata will be the Chief guest while US-based media personality Kiarie Prestige will be the host.
The move is to help recruit the Kenyans in diaspora ahead of the 2022 general elections.
