LSK President Nelson Havi declares his interest for Nairobi parliamentary seat

Law Society of Kenya (LSK) President Nelson Havi has declared his interest for a Nairobi Parliamentary seat in the forthcoming 2022 general elections.

While speaking at a church service on Sunday, June 13 2021, Havi announced that he will vie for the Westlands Constituency parliamentary seat come 2022 general elections.

He stated that he would vie on former Vice President Musalia Mudavadi led Amani National Congress (ANC) Party ticket because the agenda for ANC is to improve the current economic state, which the Westlands area needs.

In his statement, the LSK President claimed that the problem with Westlands constituency is the lack of well-being and lack of jobs and promised to change the status of the area if elected.

“I have come here to ask for a chance to serve you in parliament as the Member of Parliament for Westlands,” Havi stated.

“I have a direction, which is the Amani National Congress (ANC). The problem with Westlands is the lack of well-being and lack of jobs. That is why the agenda for ANC is to improve the current economic state of the area,” he added.

On Monday, April 19, 2021 Amani National Congress (ANC) party leader Musalia Mudavadi held a meeting with the LSK boss where they discussed constitutional and legal matters of significance and their implication to Kenyans.

“Today I held discussions with Nelson Havi, The President of the Law Society of Kenya. We deliberated on Constitutional and Legal matters of significance and their implications on the Kenyan people,” Mudavadi said.

Havi was elected Law Society of Kenya (LSK) president in the year 2020 to serve a two-year term from 2020 to 2022.

The LSK boss was suspended earlier this year following claims of abuse of office. Havi had suspended council members leading to the tension in the council.

However, the court reinstated the members who he had suspended.
