Wiper party leader Kalonzo Musyoka has disclosed his last conversation with the late former Kibwezi Member of Parliament Kalembe Ndile.
Speaking at Lee Funeral home, the former Vice President revealed that he had been in touch with the Kalembe Ndile on several occasions before he died.
Kalonzo stated that Kalembe had called him on Saturday, May29, 2021 at 3 a.m. as he was seeking for an admission to a hospital in Nairobi County.
“He informed me that they had tried getting admitted at a local hospital and was later admitted at Nairobi Hospital,”
“I honestly did not know that was the last time I would be speaking to him,” Kalonzo stated.
The Wiper party leader while thanking the doctors for their efforts to save Kalembe’s life, Kalonzo affirmed that his death was not related to any Covid-19 complications.
Following the news of Kalembe’s demise, various political leaders took to the social media to eulogise him with President Uhuru Kenyatta describing him as a lively politician who loved and worked with everyone and always held the interests of the country at heart.
“It is unfortunate that death has taken from us the Hon Kalembe Ndile in his prime. He was a lively politician who loved and worked with everyone and always held the interests of the country at heart,” President Uhuru stated.
Deputy President William Ruto also described the late former Kibwezi MP as a champion for the rights of the underprivileged.
“He will best be remembered for his modesty, insights, and independent voice and fighting for the rights of the underprivileged,” Ruto said.
