Murathe now speaks about a covert operation that Kang’ata undertook for Ruto while still Chief Whip

Outspoken Jubilee vice-chair, and former Gatanga member of parliament, David Murathe, has now come out to claim that his party would have gotten rid of the five renegade senators (Millicent Omanga, Falhada Iman, Jillo Waqo, Victor Prengei and Mary Seneta) long ago, were it not for a nefarious covert operation that Kang’ata carried out, and which even roped in the Political Parties Disputes Tribunal, which is supposed to serve as the final arbiter in the event that there’s a dispute between a party and a member.

Mr. Murathe’s shot at Kang’ata is his latest criticism in his string of barbs aimed at his county-mate, ever since the latter officially left Kieleweke, and joined ranks with the Deputy President, under the informal outfit, Tanga Tanga.

Mr. Murathe’s recent remarks imply that Senator Irungu Kang’ata was never really part and parcel of the president’s supporters, and even his infamous letter to the president, which is said to have informed the decision to oust him as Chief Whip, was, as a matter of fact, meant to ridicule the head of state.

Murathe was speaking on KTN’s political show, NewsNight, which was hosted by the station’s news anchor, Ken Mijungu.

Mr. Murathe said that when the party’s disciplinary council first expelled the five senators from the party, and consequently made them lose their seats, that should have been the end of the matter.

Murathe said that they shouldn’t have been sent back to party machineries to engage in more negotiations.
However, Murathe says they later found out what occasioned this to happen.

Murathe went on to claim that while all this was going on, Kang’ata was involved in a devious plan behind the scenes, and used his post as the Senate Chief Whip to effect his machinations.

He, according to Murathe, wrote to the Political Parties Disputes Tribunal, and lied to the body that Jubilee had already and forgiven the five, who were now in good terms with the party.

Murathe cited this as one major reason why getting any of the Senators expelled has been a difficult task, but that soon it would be taken care of, he assured.
