Full list of how MPs voted to pass the BBI bill

The Kenyan Members of parliament yesterday May 6, 2021, took part in a voting process to pass and enable the amendment bill to move to the Senate before a referendum can follow.

Reports indicate that the voting process began at around 6 PM and it involved members physically present and those who participated virtually.

Coordinating the over 50 MPs who were voting via zoom proved a little difficult for the house speaker Justine Muturi.

This was a result of constant echoes, lags, and feedback with a number of lawmakers forgetting to mute their microphones after speaking.

Allies of President Uhuru Kenyatta and former Prime Minister Raila Odinga dominated the Yes team as was expected, while the DP supporters aligned to the NO lead by Soy legislator Caleb Kositany.

In a surprising turn of events, Bahati MP Kimani Ngunjiri a critic of President Uhuru Kenyatta and the bill voted Yes at the last minute.
