Kipchumba Murkomen revisits Orengo’s warning amid reports of a divided ODM

Elgeyo Marakwet County senator Kipchumba Murkomen yesterday took a swipe at his Siaya counterpart James Orengo revisiting his earlier remarks when he felt the wrath of the government he was part.

Orengo in his crafted phrase once told Murkomen that “government eats its own people”, not knowing his words could turn and bite him sometime.

Weighing in on the Senior Counsel, Murkomen sympathized with him while revisiting his iconic quote, sometimes a revolution eats its own children.

“I know exactly what James Orengo feels. I have been there. You know you are right but you are still torn between standing by your principles and kissing to survive. I didn’t know that opposition too eats its own people,” said Murkomen.

Orengo and his Nyamira counterpart Okong’o Omogeni together with the Rarieda MP Otiende Amollo have been on the receiving end over their stand on the BBI and the validity and distribution of the newly proposed 70 constituencies.

He recently met a hostile reception in Siaya where he, together with other lawmakers were forced to flee after being attacked by irate youth.

He recently met a hostile reception in Siaya where he, together with other lawmakers were forced to flee after being attacked by irate youth.

This was as a result of the perception that Orengo and the other lawmakers had reservations with the ongoing 2010 constitutional amendments bill.

The trio are treated with hostility because they signed the majority report that declared the proposed 70 new constituencies illegal.

Following this development, Rarieda legislator Otiende Amollo was yesterday kicked out of his lucrative vice chairman and member of the National Assembly’s Justice and Legal Affairs Committee (JLAC) position.
