As the 2022 presidential election fast approaches, Embakasi East Member of Parliament Babu Owino on Monday, April 12, 2021 drafted a potential 2022 political lineup.
According to Babu, Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party leader Odinga Raila will be the President and he will be deputized by Wiper party leader Kalonzo Musyoka while President Uhuru Kenyatta will take the Prime Minister slot.
President Uhuru Kenyatta will be deputized by KANU party leader Gideon Moi and his ANC counterpart Musalia Mudavadi as two Deputy Drime Ministers.
The Embakasi East lawmaker also stated that Mombasa Governor Ali Hassan Joho will become the Speaker of the National Assembly while his Kilifi counterpart Amason Kingi will take up the role of the Speaker of the Senate.
Babu expressed his confidence of retaining his Embakasi Parliamentary seat and will also be seeking a Cabinet Secretary position noting that the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) constitutional amendments bill allow Members Parliament to be appointed as Cabinet Secretaries.
In his dream plan, Deputy President William Ruto would be the official opposition leadership with his United Democratic Alliance (UDA) brigade.
The outspoken legislator dismissed rumours of coalition between DP Ruto and Former Prime Minister Raila Odinga.
This comes after recent meeting between DP Ruto and ODM Deputy party leader Wycliffe Oparanya who noted that the Ruto sought an alliance between UDA and ODM parties.
Raila and his NASA counterparts have since parted ways with his NASA colleagues forming the One Kenya Alliance comprising of Mudavadi, Wetangula, Kalonzo and Gideon Moi.
