Matiang’I bodyguard’s murderous night; step by step chronology of events

As the chilling events of Tuesday night, which saw Hudson Wakise take the life of his wife and his own, continue to surface, we bring you a blow by blow account of the events that took place on the fateful evening.

About a week earlier, Hudson Wakise’s wife by the name Pauline Wakasa, a policewoman attached to the traffic department, separated from her husband following a domestic wrangle, and moved out of their home which was within the GSU base in Ruaraka.

Hudson was a GSU officer, and also attached to CS Matiang’I’s security detail.

According to the account of Gloria Nanjala Mulongo, who is Pauline’s sister and an eyewitness, on Sunday, Hudson came and had a brief and private chat with Pauline in her bedroom.

Pauline had by then moved from their GSU base house to another house close by and still within Ruaraka.
Gloria says that on Monday, again Hudson dropped by and had a private chat with Pauline in the bedroom.
On the tragic Tuesday, he came and found Pauline’s siblings, Gloria and Sirengo, having supper with his two kids.

Gloria invited him to the meal but he turned down the offer, after finding that Pauline wasn’t around.

He left, and soon afterwards, Pauline arrived.

Gloria says that it didn’t take long for Hudson to return.
As was becoming the norm, they went to the bedroom and had a private talk.

However, unlike previously, Hudson barged out of the room seeming enraged and in a fit.

According to Gloria, he then perched himself on the arm of the sofa, and sat quietly.

A couple of moments later, after Pauline had also come out of the bedroom, he taunted her, asking her whether she had changed so much because of the new man in her life.

Gloria continues, saying that her sister, the deceased Pauline, responded to his taunt in kind, asking him whether he was talking about the man that he had offered her.

It was at this point that Hudson took out his pistol and shot Pauline repeatedly.

He then turned the gun on himself, shooting himself in the chin, and busting his head open.

As this was going on, Pauline’s brother and sister took the kids and sought refuge outside.
