Kenya Airways announces suspension of some of its domestic flights

Kenya Airways have made an announcement over their flight schedules for Nairobi, Mombasa and Kisumu amid increased rate of Covid-19 infections and deaths across the country.

The Kenya Airways acting Chief Commercial Officer Julius Thairu have directed that all domestic flights between Nairobi and Mombasa will be suspended effective mid-day on Monday, March 27, 2021 until further notice.

The KQ Chief Commercial Officer added that the flights between Nairobi and Kisumu will also be suspended on Monday at noon until further notice.

This follows the directive by President Uhuru Kenyatta in efforts to contain the spread of COVID-19.

KQ added that they have increased the number of scheduled flights until Monday mid-day, to address customers’ needs.

“We sincerely apologize to all our customers for the inconvenience and reiterate that our crew, staff, and country’s safety remains our priority,” KQ said.

Those affected by the changes have been advised to review their bookings for later travel or request a refund.
