Senator Malala and MP Osoro arrested over by-election violence

Kakamega Senator Cleophas Malala and South Mugirango Member of Parliament Silvanus Osoro have been arrested shortly after surrendering to police over the chaos that was witnessed in the by-elections that was held in different parts of country last week.

MP Osoro presented himself at the Kisii Divisional Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) headquarters after he went on hiding since Thursday March 4, 2021.

The South Mugirango legislator went on hiding after he allegedly caused chaos during Kiamokama by-election.

Sylvanus Osoro was accompanied by his lawyers; Kandara Member of Parliament Alice Wahome, Uasin Gishu Women Representative Gladys Shollei and Wilkins Ochoki to the Kisii Divisional Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) headquarters.

Kakamega Senator Cleophas Malala also presented himself to the police at Kakamega Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) offices after he was summoned for creating violence during Matungu by-election.

The two leaders were arrested on Monday, March 8, 2021 after they voluntarily surrendered to the police.

The duo was questioned by the detectives and will be arraigned in court.
