Presidential hopeful and Deputy President William Ruto has urged his rivals in the Jubilee Party to stop attacking him needlessly.
Speaking during his visit in Meru County, the DP said he is tired of attacks from within Jubilee yet he is the one who helped President Uhuru Kenyatta clinch victory.
“I was key in Uhuru’s victory in 2013, in 2017 and even the repeat election ordered by the Supreme Court. Was I not? People must stop their insults, hate and contempt,” the DP said.
DP Ruto also said he played a significant role in Jubilee’s successful development programmes.
“Look at the roads, railway, water, and last mile connection projects. That should tell you that I am the most potential successor to Uhuru in 2022,” said Ruto.
He added that Jubilee had set a firm foundation for economic take-off and it was now time to empower the 16 million Kenyans without jobs.
“Seeking to bring those lowly Kenyans to the table is what has caused the grudge against me,” he said.
The DP was accompanied by his host Meru Senator Mithika Linturi and other leaders allied to Tanga Tanga political wing.
