A family of four perished in an early morning accident near Two Rivers mall Kiambu county on Sunday.
The four Peter Miano Wahome, his wife Susan Wahome and two children Everlyne Wahome and Prince Wahome had travelled from Subukia and headed for Nairobi.
The unfortunate incident occurred after their car, a Toyota Passo, collided head-on with a salon car.
According to police reports, the salon car tried overtaking another vehicle before ramming into the family car.
The motorist escaped with serious injuries, which he continues nursing at a private Nairobi hospital.
“Police called me on Sunday afternoon inquiring if I knew an individual going by my younger’s brother name. Upon confirming I knew him, they broke the unfortunate news to me,” said Gichuki, a brother to the deceased.
Gichuki said he spoke to his brother on Friday while headed to Subukia for the dowry payment.
He also said that he talked to his father on the same day, around 9 pm.
Miano worked as a taxi operator in Nairobi’s Githurai 45 estate.
After the sad news, friends and family thronged his father’s home to condone with the family.
There’s an ongoing burial arrangement for the four at Miano’s father home in Arahuka, Solai.
In another unfortunate news, three siblings from Ntulele in Narok county drowned in a dam on Sunday.
The Narok East sub-county authorities confirmed the tragic incident saying a herdsman discovered the floating bodies on Monday.
