Moses Kuria: We respect Raila but we don’t love him, Central has settled on DP Ruto to succeed Uhuru

Gatundu South Member of Parliament Moses Kuria on Sunday 28 February 2021 said the Kikuyus respect the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) leader Raila Odinga but they will never love him.

Speaking during a church service in Gatanga, Murang’a County, the lawmaker said the Kikuyu community has already decided that Deputy President William Ruto will succeed President Uhuru Kenyatta once his second and final term is over in 2022.

Kuria noted that people never voted for the ODM leader so the head of state should stop forcing him to people.

“We respect and love Uhuru but we never voted Raila. He should not force him to us. We can’t accept Raila even if he is injected into us with a syringe,” he said.

On his part, DP Ruto said that nothing was stopping him from touring the region as was being claimed by his critics.

He added that his critics should know that he is still Uhuru’s deputy and he can visit anywhere he wants in the country as he is serving all Kenyans.

The DP pointed out said that having served as the deputy for two consecutive terms, he is best suited to see the vision of the government through after Uhuru leaves office.

He also took time to slam the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) bill that was recently passed by a majority of County Assemblies.

He said that the bill has been derailing the country’s development and the government’s Big Four Agenda.

The second in command said that there was little time left for the government to deliver its promises to Kenyans before the general election next year.

He, however, vowed that the Jubilee government would accomplish all the promises it made to Kenyans.

He explained that despite the popularized rivalry between him and the first in command, they have always been working together as a team to deliver the promises they made to Kenyans.

During his two-day visit in the North region earlier on where he toured Trans Nzoia and Nandi Counties, the DP asserted that he was not scared of the political alliances being formed ahead of the 2022 general elections.
