President Uhuru and Prime Minister Raila Odinga discussed 2022 elections for the first time

Uhuru Kenyatta and Raila Odinga for once did meet and discussed the 2022 succession race yesterday after word went round that the president was preferring; Musalia Mudavadi, Kalonzo Musyoka, Moses Wetangula and Gideon Moi.

The President denied having preferred anyone and instead accused some of his people working in his office to be behind the recent confusion in the country over the succession politics.

The President decided to meet Raila over the issue after his long time advisors Ms. Nancy Gitau told the president that the propaganda insinuating that he is favoring the Mudavadi camp is not going to bring tension between him and Raila and that it is either Raila or Ruto, not unless both are retiring next year.

The four have been pushing for a Holy Alliance with a direct blessings from guys around Ps Kibicho.

The Kibicho guys argue that according to the Building Bridges Initiative and the handshake deal, Uhuru and Raila were supposed to exit the political terrain in 2022 but they at the same time face the challenge of dealing with a strong and determined Ruto next year.

Raila is sending mixed signals as to whether he will run or not. Raila is under pressure from a section of politicians who cling to his coat in order to win political seats. Among those who are pushing Raila to make a final stab at the presidency by sidelining Mudavadi, Kalonzo and Wetangula are mostly politicians from Luo Nyanza who fear competition in their backyards.

  1. But all these events dim in significance when one considers this month’s tour of Nyanza by the president himself. Though Ruto accompanied the president, it was clear that he was an unwanted guest: Most protocol arrangements seemed to suggest that the deputy president had been put in third place after the president and his host, Odinga.
