Outspoken Kapseret MP Oscar Sudi has pleaded with Deputy President William Ruto’s rivals to spare his life even as they continue to intimidate him and his allies.
Speaking in Nakuru on Monday, February 22, Sudi said Tanga Tanga politicians are not afraid of being arrested because of their unwavering support for the DP.
The lawmaker added that it is important to ensure that the DP is alive and well as they could deal with any form of harassments but not a threat to DP Ruto’s life.
“You can plan anything on us. But all we ask is that you do not plan any kind of assassinations. Just spare his life for us. Everything else, we will deal with it together,” said Sudi.
Speaking during the same event, Ruto vowed to stay put in the ruling Jubilee Party amid pressure to resign over fallout with his boss, President Uhuru Kenyatta.
He described the challenges he is currently facing as normal in the Kenyan political scene. He also assured his supporters that all is well, maintaining that he will capture the main prize come 2022.
“At the moment we have some challenges like the urgency on amending the Constitution and other issues, but when it is done with, whether it goes right or left, we will go back to the most important agenda of pushing the government’s development programmes under the Big Four Agenda,” Ruto said.
