Barely a day after Six nominated senators were expelled from the party for gross violation of the party constitution, things get worse for the DP Ruto’s Tanga Tanga allied wing of the Jubilee party.
This is after reports emerged that the Jubilee party secretary-general Raphael Tuju is planning to extend the purge to the National assembly with the nominated MPs allied to the DP Ruto targeted.
Citing disobedience to the party constitution and defiance to its leadership, Jubilee party secretary-general Raphael Tuju wants nominated MPs Halima Mucheke, David ole Sankok, Gideon Keter, and Cecily Mbarire axed.
Reports indicate that show cause letters had been written to the four, and might be summoned in the cause of the day today February 10, 2021.
“They have continuously disregarded our constitution, the Political Parties Act, and even the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) and the Handshake. They have aligned themselves with new parties such as the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) and the wheelbarrownomics politics,” sources told a local daily.
Speaking to a local news outlet, David Ole Sankok said that he would not dwell so much into the party’s internal affairs, owing to the confidentiality of the matter.
“That is our party internal affairs, and party internal matters should be confidential,” Sankok said.
They were part of the over 100 legislators hosted by the DP at his Karen home on Monday after his 3-day tour of the Coastal stretch, where they contemplated cutting their monthly contribution to the jubilee party.
Led by Garissa Township Member of Parliament Aden Duale they also dared the pro-BBI MP’s to table an impeachment motion against the DP.
“Removal of a DP is not a birthday party, it is guided by three issues of gross violation of the Constitution, national and international law, and gross misconduct, and to introduce the motion one must raise a third and seek two-thirds majority approval. We are tired of these threats. Bring them on. We will deal with the motion once and for all,” Duale said.
