An epic battle is in the offing today in Kisii county when Orange Democratic Movement leader Raila Odinga and his political rival Deputy President William Ruto are expected to meet at a burial today.
The two rival leaders are expected to meet today in Kisii during the burial of Kisii Deputy Governor Joash Maangi’s father.
The Deputy President is a close friend to Joash Maangi, while his Boss James Ongwae is an ardent supporter of Odinga led Orange Democratic Movement party.
The two leaders are expected to exchange verbally over the Jubilee administration achievements as Odinga will be drumming up support for the Building Bridges Initiative.
The DP has recently been in the spotlight with both Mr. Odinga and his Boss President Kenyatta poking holes in his system of politics.
He has been on the radar of the President accusing him of impatience, dishonesty, and an enemy of the Mount Kenya region who can never be trusted with the leadership of the Country.
In his recent 4-day working tour of the central region, while selling the BBI and consolidating support in his backyard, Uhuru described the DP as a deceitful person.
During the visit, Uhuru rubbished claims that BBI was meant to support his closest friend and ODM leader Raila Odinga since their newfound bromance in 2018.
“It has been claimed that BBI is meant to help Raila. What help does Raila want? Someone who is almost 76 years old.
You claim this document is for Raila, which ward does he represent in Ruiru? If more money is allocated to Ruiru, will it benefit Raila or the people of Ruiru? That is nonsense,” Uhuru said.
“You claim you are the solution to the young people, you are giving them wheelbarrows, who told you that they need wheelbarrows?
They need jobs, they want to be self-dependent,” the President added in a direct attack on Ruto and his allies.
This was after the DP did rounds in the central region polarizing the people on equitability in revenue allocation while issuing handouts to them.
