Deputy Ruto yesterday threw President Uhuru Kenyatta under the bus while addressing his supporters at a rally in Ruthimitu secondary School in Dagoretti South, Nairobi county.
During the address, Ruto distanced himself from all the failures of the Jubilee administration, laying the blames squarely at Uhuru’s doorstep.
Earlier on in the week, the DP had accused the opposition led by Raila Odinga of the failures of the jubilee administration.
“If you have any problem with Jubilee’s performance call, President Uhuru,” said Ruto.
Odinga fired back by responding that he is the second in command, and therefore should take full responsibility.
This is after the DP had last week said ODM is to blame for causing the government to deviate from its Big Four Agenda plan.
“You came and changed the Government’s priorities from the Big Four Agenda to alternative ones like the Building Bridges Initiative. Now, after you have failed miserably, you want to run away,” he said.
Ruto added that ODM and its brigade will be liable for the major failures in the Jubilee administration.
“You must bear the consequences for the derailment of Jubilee’s development agenda. You cannot point fingers at others,” he added.
The DP also defended his hustler nation, by stating that the hustler narrative was not meant to divide Kenyans but to address the plight of the poor, and their empowerment.
“The discussion we are having about hustler nation is not a discussion about the rich and the poor, it is about getting everybody to the table and ensure everybody counts,” he said.
“How is it a discussion that is dividing people if we are saying let us also have a discussion about the ordinary people of Kenya?” he posed.
