DP Ruto outsmarts Jubilee a day after Tuju grounded him with major announcement[Photos]

Deputy President Willliam Ruto has outsmarted the Jubilee party yet again a day after the party Secretary-General grounded him with a major announcement on the upcoming by-elections.

This is after the DP brokered a new deal between the Machakos Senatorial by-election aspirants, with the two coming together in partnership in favor of Urbanus Mutunga Muthama Ngengele as the hustler candidate.

Taking to Facebook shortly after the union, the second in command expressed his gratitude to the Machakos grassroots leaders on their excemplary leadership.

“Grateful to witness the partnership forged by the Machakos Senate by-election hopefuls in favor of Urbanus Mutunga Muthama Ngengele, a hustler from the county. Our gratitude to them for their audacity and leadership to cede their aspirations and back Ngengele for the race.

During a consultative meeting with Machakos County grassroots leaders, Karen, Nairobi County.” Wrote DP Ruto.

The move comes after Kalonzo Musyoka’s wiper Democratic party an affiliate of the NASA coalition had fronted Agnes Kavindu as their candidate in the by-election.

The party is keen to use the bitter divorce between the former Machakos senator and Agnes to settle their pollical scores

“Agnes Kavindu is our sure bet to silence Muthama once and for all. All our party elected MPs and MCAs from all counties will camp in Machakos to ensure we clinch the seat,” said a party operative who did not want to be named.

This is after Jubilee yesterday through the party secretary-general Raphael Tuju made it clear that the party will not participate in the Matungu, Kabuchai, and Machakos by-elections.

Tuju cited the good relationship and relative peace that the country enjoys with the Jubilee party collaborating with ODM, Ford Kenya, ANC, KANU, and Wiper as one of the reasons for the decision.

With the decision, the party once again denied the DP a chance to flex his political muscles in a showdown that would have seen him face off with Raila Odinga and other politicians.
