Fresh details have emerged on the brutal murder of President Uhuru Kenyatta’s relative as investigators discover new findings from what was initially recorded.
Reports indicate that one Peter Njuguna Mbeca was attacked in his home by a gang on Sunday, January 10, with his wife Teresia Wanjiru Njuguna surviving with no injuries.
The deceased had multiple injuries on the face and head when he was found dead in his bedroom.
Appearing before Kiambu Law Courts, Inspector Raphael Wanjohi from the DCI Homicide unit said that Wanjiru’s account of the circumstances that led to her husband’s death contradicted police findings at the scene.
He noted that the severe injuries on the victim’s lower jaw were inconsistent dismissing the claims of being ambushed and attacked by robbers.
Wajohi also said that the position the investigators found him in was inconsistent with the injuries as blood was oozing from the right side of his face and head adding that the deceased was found on his knees facing the edge of the bed.
The court was further told that the couple had dinner on that night of his death with the detective confirming that Wanjiru was the last person to be with Mbeca.
Detectives found a blood-stained ax suspected to have been used to kill the businessman hidden under a couch in the house.
