English supermodel Naomi Campbell has landed a lucrative job with the Kenyan government.
This is after the supermodel agreed to market Kenya in the capacity of a Magical Kenya International Tourism Ambassador.
In a statement released by the ministry earlier today, her role will be to helping promote and market Kenya as an ideal tourism and travel destination.
The Ministry for wildlife and Tourism met with the International model over the weekend during her vacation in the Country and struck the deal.
“We welcome the exciting news that Naomi Campbell will advocate for tourism and travel internationally for the magical Kenya brand,” stated Balala.
She has been vacationing in the Country since December 15, at the luxurious billionaires’ resort in Malindi.
During the visit, Campell praised a number of infrastructural improvements in the sector, notably the upgrading of the Malindi Airport to international standards and the golf section.
“I am also impressed with the world-class standard facilities at the Professional Golf Association (PGA) Baobab course located in Vipingo Ridge, the only golf course accredited by the PGA in the whole of Africa. I invite golf professionals globally to visit the course to enjoy the experience,” she stated.
She is visiting the country for a third time, in what is seen as a major boost to the ailing sector since Covid-19 struck earlier last year.
However, the reopening of the borders and International flights has since seen a tremendous improvement in the sector, even though overseas numbers are still down.
